Sharing Knowledge on Project Implementation based on M&E, supervision, implementation support and reviews, is an important feature that can then be directly used to improve the effectiveness of the country programme. This can also be further distilled and fed into the regional and corporate systems for further dissemination. Through its new supervision policy, IFAD proposes to take specific measures to draw the lessons learned from supervision missions and feed them back into country programme review processes. Country teams and the design and implementation support missions can then make use of the knowledge available through the available regional and thematic networks to design and implement the country programme along best practices. Project completion reports will also now focus on the major lessons learnt, and on the steps taken to imbibe these lessons.
It is in this background that sharing of knowledge gained during project implementation through the networks, workshops and regular portfolio reviews gains critical value so that the effectiveness of IFAD interventions is enhanced to a great extent.
