IFAD was established in 1977 with the objective to fight rural poverty. India is not only the largest recipient of IFAD's assistance, but is also one of its main donors having a permanent seat in its Executive Board.
  A rural business and marketing training was organised by the IFAD ICP in Shillong from the 21st to the 23 rd May 2008.The aim of the training workshop was to provide an overall understanding of a framework for capacity building and facilitating rural business and marketing processes of farm and off-farm products.
 
 
 

Nongkyndang village is amongst the oldest and biggest villages in West Khasi Hills district. Through the intervention of the NERCORMP project, together with its partner NGO ‘Bosco Reach Out’ a NARM-G (Natural Resource Management Group) was formed. This NaRM-G along with the DST carried out several trainings on book keeping, vision building exercise, preperation of annual work plan and budget, financial book keeping, agri-horti trainings, which enabled the communities to carry out the implementation of the project activities very effectively. As a result now,the environment in the village has improved drastically and lot of development has taken place..
